Descale the heater
Periodically descale to remove mineral scale from the heater and lines, using the supplied descale powder or an espresso-safe descaler.
Interval depends on water hardness and the machine's descale alert; check your manual.

Step by step
- Empty the drip tray and remove the water filter from the tank so it is not exposed to descaler.
- Mix the supplied descale powder with water to the tank line and run the descale mode through both the espresso and steam/hot-water paths as the manual directs.
- Refill with fresh water and run a full rinse cycle before making coffee again, and reinstall the water filter.
