Run the cleaning (backflush) cycle
Use the automated CLEAN cycle with the blind disc and a cleaning tablet to clear coffee oils from the brew head when the CLEAN light appears.

Step by step
- Insert the supplied cleaning/blind disc into the single-cup filter basket in the portafilter and drop in one cleaning tablet.
- Lock the portafilter into the group and empty the drip tray so it can catch the flush water.
- Start the CLEAN cycle per your manual and let it run to completion without interruption.
- Remove the portafilter, rinse the blind disc and basket thoroughly, and run a plain water shot to flush any residue.
