This machine has no 3-way solenoid valve, so backflush cleaning discs and blind baskets do not apply here; they are wasted on the ECP3420. Aftermarket bottomless portafilters and precision baskets exist and mount to the 51mm ears, but fit and finish vary by seller; we analyzed manufacturer and retailer specs rather than bench-testing individual units.

Tamper - A proper flat 51mm metal tamper replaces the light stock plastic tamper and gives you even, repeatable puck prep so shots stop pulling unevenly.

Backflush cleaning or blind discs - this machine has no 3-way solenoid valve, so it cannot be backflushed and a blind disc has nothing to do here.
Single-wall precision baskets and a bottomless portafilter until you have a capable grinder and consistent tamping to support them.

Avoid

Any 54mm or 58mm portafilters, baskets, tampers or distributors; this machine is 51mm only.Descaling with household vinegar in place of a dedicated coffee-machine descaler.

Common wrong buys: Descaling with vinegar instead of a dedicated coffee-machine descaler; the acid is harsh on the aluminum boiler and rubber seals. · Swapping to a single-wall precision basket while still using coarse or pre-ground coffee, which causes channeling and fast gushers instead of a controlled shot. · Expecting cafe-grade microfoam from the Panarello sleeve; for finer foam you must pull the sleeve off and use the inner one-hole tip. · Buying 58mm (or 54mm) accessories by habit; this is a 51mm machine and those simply will not fit. · Pulling shots on a cold machine and cold portafilter; the small boiler has little thermal mass, so skipping a warm-up gives under-temperature espresso. · Trying to backflush it or buying a blind/cleaning disc; the ECP3420 has no 3-way solenoid valve, so backflushing does nothing here and a cleaning disc is wasted money - clean the group by wiping and rinsing instead.
