Avoid:: The 51mm portafilter uses a two-lug (not three-lug) bayonet - confirm two-lug DeLonghi fitment on any bottomless/naked portafilter before buying; three-lug 51mm parts exist for other machines and will not lock. No three-way solenoid valve, so backflushing with a blind/cleaning disc does nothing useful on this machine. The panarello-style frother sleeve limits microfoam; no milk-jug or latte-art tool overcomes the frother's airy texture. The included tamper is a lightweight plastic placeholder; the basket diameter is 51mm, so any replacement tamper should be sized to that 51mm spec.

Precision baskets and WDT tools until you own a decent burr grinder - they add little over the forgiving stock pressurized baskets without one.

Avoid

58mm and 53mm/54mm portafilters, baskets and tampers - this is a 51mm group and they will not fit.Three-lug 51mm bottomless portafilters and 'universal' 51mm parts that don't confirm two-lug DeLonghi fitment - they may not lock into the group.Panarello-replacement 'pro' steam tips promising latte art - the machine's low steam pressure won't deliver tight microfoam regardless of tip.

Common wrong buys: Assuming the portafilter is a standard size - it is a non-standard 51mm two-lug DeLonghi group, so most 54mm and 58mm accessories, tampers and baskets will not fit. · Trying to backflush it - the Stilosa has no three-way solenoid valve, so a blind/cleaning disc accomplishes nothing; clean by wiping and descaling instead. · Not purging/flushing a little water through the group before brewing - like most single-thermoblock machines, brew temperature can swing between shots, so a short flush helps steady the pour (general thermoblock guidance, not a Stilosa-specific measurement). · Expecting latte art from the panarello frother - it produces airy foam, not tight microfoam; blaming milk technique instead of the frother design leads to frustration. · Leaning on the lightweight included plastic tamper and coarse pre-ground, then blaming the machine - even with the pressurized basket you still need a reasonably fine espresso grind and a level, firm tamp.
