Coffee Setup Guide

Brand ecosystem

Gaggia espresso machines and their ecosystem

Both Gaggia passports we track record a nominal 58mm e61-style group, gaggia-58 ear geometry, and a deep accessory ecosystem. That shared classification supports a broad search, but each product still needs evidence for the exact machine and intended function.

Before you assume anything fits

Brand compatibility is not model compatibility. Use the Gaggia classification to narrow the field, then confirm the exact machine, ear geometry, basket dimensions, and product evidence before buying.

"Seller-claimed" means a marketplace listing asserts the fit; it is not manufacturer-confirmed. Verify size against your machine before purchase.

Size exceptions to know

  • A 58mm diameter does not make every portafilter body interchangeable. The locking ears still need a Gaggia-specific fit claim.

Typical upgrade pattern

Both Gaggia passports record the same first three upgrade categories: filter basket, bottomless portafilter, then tamper. Both already include non-pressurized baskets as well as a pressurized option, so a basket purchase is about precision or dose needs, not escaping a pressurized-only stock setup.
